What is a Beni Mrirt rug?
A Beni Mrirt rug is a hand-knotted wool pile rug from the region around the town of M'rirt, in Morocco's Middle Atlas, traditionally woven by Amazigh women. It has a thick, soft pile and freehand geometric designs: classically dark lines on natural cream wool, and today in many colors.
We work in M'rirt itself. Every rug we make is knotted there, by hand, for one home.
